WHAT WE DO

Meals & Tolar Impairment Specialists assist energy employees to understand and maximize their impairment compensation benefits under EEOICPA, RECA, and FECA.

We are EEOICPA, RECA, and FECA Impairment Specialists

Terms like EEOICPA, RECA and FECA can feel overwhelming. It doesn’t have to be. Meals & Tolar Impairment Specialists are well-acquainted with these programs. We understand the impairment compensation benefits available to energy employees for which they qualify as a result of their employment.

History of EEOICPA

The Energy Employment Occupational Illness Compensation Act Program (EEOICPA) provides health benefits to current and former employees (or their survivors) who worked in the nuclear weapons or uranium industry during the Manhattan Project and the Cold War. Learn more about the program.

History of RECA

The Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) provides compensation benefits to uranium miners, millers, and ore haulers in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming who meet specific criteria. Click here to learn more.

FECA | Postal Workers | Impairment Assessments | Impairment Ratings

History of FECA

The Federal Employees Compensation Act (FECA) provides compensation benefits to injured federal employees including employees for the Unites States Postal Service, Transportation Security Administration, Treasury Department, Veterans Administration and many others.  These benefits include medical expenses, compensation for wage loss, and payment to dependents of employees who die from work-related injuries or diseases.  Both full time and part time workers are covered. Click here to learn more.

Impairment Assessments

EEOICPA Part E and RECA pay $2,500 for every 1% of whole person impairment for each approved condition. FECA benefits are calculated using claimants pay scale, body part affected, and the percentage of impairment. New conditions may be rated upon the approval of the condition. Existing conditions may be re-evaluated every two years. The addition of a new covered condition also allows for a new rating. We are committed to maximizing our clients’ EEOICPA, RECA and FECA impairment benefits. Learn more about impairment assessments.
